Meet Results
Westside Aquatics participated in two meets in January.
In early January we saw our swimmers at the Q Meet at the legendary and fast Belmont Plaza. The Q meet traditionally host the best swimmers from Arizona, Nevada and California. We had a total of eight swimmers qualify. Samantha Brill, Paris Hays and Brian Johnson made their first appearances at the Q meet. Kendal Bohn placed 12 th in the 100 breast and Katie Wong placed 14 th in the 50 Free. We had some good swims from our other participants including David Nonberg, Alexa Merz, Kim Kraushaar.
This past weekend we made a name for ourselves at the first meet of our new section when we swam at the South Gate “Welcome to the Pacific Section” meet. Along with many great swims, best times were posted by Samantha Brill, Ali Baraff and Peter Fishler in the 200 free.
You can find complete results for both meets at www.socalswim.org.
Upcoming Meets
February 19-21 Senior Champs at Industry Hills will be our first meet where most of our swimmers will be allowed to swim attached. Meet forms can be downloaded at www.socalswim.org.
March 3-6 USA Swimming Speedo Championship Series CA-NV Spring Championship at Mission Viejo. This is a coach entered meet. Coach Blakis will be contacting those that qualify.

So starts one of the pamphlets in Thomas Paine's "The American Crisis." Although he was speaking of the Revolutionary War, his words ring true in our modern times in a surprising area: raising children.
